Longyear.app (“the App”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a web-based guide for Longyearbyen that aggregates flights, port visits, venues, wildlife data, maps, and local resources. We respect your privacy and this policy explains what we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1.1 Information you provide

The App does not require an account. We only receive personal data if you send it to us directly (for example, by email).

1.2 Automatically collected information

When you browse the App we may log basic technical data such as device type, operating system, browser, anonymised usage metrics (page views and feature usage), and IP address for security and diagnostics.

1.3 Location data

Some features may ask for your location to show nearby points of interest. Your location stays on your device and is not stored or transmitted by us.

1.4 Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers such as Google Maps, Matomo (or similar analytics), and external APIs for airport or port schedules. These services operate under their own privacy policies. We never sell or share personal data with advertisers.

2. How We Use Data

Data is used to ensure the App functions correctly, improve features, monitor performance, detect issues, and provide accurate travel/port information. We do not build marketing or advertising profiles.

3. Data Storage and Security

We apply reasonable technical safeguards. Server logs are retained only briefly. We store personal data solely when you choose to contact us.

4. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

5. Your Rights
